History of National Rail Museum Delhi
The National Rail Museum, located in New Delhi, is a premier museum that preserves and showcases the rich heritage and history of the Indian Railways.The foundation stone of the National Rail Museum was laid on 7 October 1971 by the then President of India, Shri V.V. Giri. The National Rail Museum was inaugurated on February 1, 1977 by Kamalapati Tripathi, the then Railway Minister of India. The museum was opened to the public on 1 February 1977 and has been a center of attraction for railway lovers and history enthusiasts ever since. It houses rare trains, engines, and other related items showcasing over 160 years of history of Indian Railways.
