Badi Mata Pacheti Temple: A Spiritual Treasure of Agar-Malwa

In Agar-Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh, there is a temple where the devotion of the devotees and the blessings of the Goddess beautifully come together — the Badi Mata Pacheti Temple. Locals lovingly call it “Badi Mata Pacheti.” It is believed that wishes are fulfilled here, and devotees visit the temple to seek blessings and offer their prayers.

According to local stories, this temple was established at the very spot where ancient idols of the Goddess were first found in the forest. The village Pacheti is said to have derived its name from this temple itself.

There are no exact historical documents that confirm when the temple was built, which kings patronized its construction, or what architectural style it followed. Still, local legends and unwavering faith have made this place historically and spiritually significant.

The temple is located near Pacheti village, about 22–25 kilometers from Agar-Malwa headquarters. The most convenient route is via the Tillar Dam, from where a motor road leads to the site. Since the path runs through the forest, travelers should remain cautious.
