India Gate is a monument or mausoleum built in memory of Indian and British soldiers, which is located in the state of Delhi, India. This monument was built as a Commemoration to the memory of the soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War and the Afghan Wars. The height of this monument is 42 meters and the width is 9.1 meters. It was inaugurated by Lord Irwin, the Viceroy of India. this monument was designed by the architect Edwin Lutyens. It is one of the biggest graves of soldiers martyred in the First World War, along with it is also a famous tourist place.

National War Memorial, Delhi

The National War Memorial, Delhi has been built near India Gate to pay tribute to the soldiers of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and dedicated the National War Memorial on 25 February 2019 to the nation. This monument is built on 44 acres of land and it has been built in the Chhatri (Chandwa) near India Gate. Manufactured in memory of soldiers martyred in wars 1947-48, 1961 (Goa), 1962 (Chinese), 1965, 1971, 1987 (Siachen), 1987-88 (Sri Lanka), 1999 (Kargil), and others.

This memorial has been built at a cost of 176 crores and the names of more than 25000 soldiers who were martyred in wars after 1947 are written on the bricks here.
