History of Paat Baba Temple, Jabalpur
The history of Paat Baba Mandir is intertwined with a remarkable event. Smith planned to set up a Gun Carriage Factory in Jabalpur. However, he faced persistent problems during construction—walls would inexplicably collapse overnight. Frustrated, Smith prayed for divine intervention. That night, Hanuman Ji appeared in his dream and revealed that a deity’s statue was buried near the factory site.

The next day, Smith began excavations around the factory and discovered a statue of Hanuman Ji buried in the ground. After wrapping the statue in red cloth, the construction of Paat Baba Mandir commenced on August 12, 1903. Following the temple’s construction, the factory was completed without further issues, which is believed to be a sign of Hanuman Ji’s continued protection and blessing.
