Significance and Legend of Hanuman Dhara
According to legend, after Lord Hanuman burned Lanka, he felt intense heat. Following the coronation of Lord Rama, Hanuman sought a remedy for this discomfort. With a smile, Lord Rama directed him to the hills of Chitrakoot, where he was advised to perform the Sri Ram Raksha Stotra 1008 times. Upon completing his prayers, a cool water stream appeared from above and flowed over Hanuman’s form, providing him relief. This sacred stream, known as Hanuman Dhara, continues to flow to this day, touching the statue of Hanuman and inspiring faith and devotion in all who visit.
