According to legend, Aghamarshan Kund is the place where a Yaksha, cursed to live as a python, tested the Pandavas. When the Pandavas attempted to drink water from this pool, the Yaksha posed them questions. When they failed to answer, he rendered four of them unconscious. Only Yudhishthira answered correctly, after which the Yaksha released the four brothers. This place is now known as a sin-free pond, where devotees come to bathe, especially on Saptami Sunday.
