History of the Zoo

The Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya was established in 1974 and is dedicated to Kamla Nehru, the wife of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The zoo started with limited animals and a small area, but over time, it expanded significantly. Today, the zoo spans approximately 51 acres and is vital in raising awareness about wildlife conservation.
