History of the White Tiger and Rewa’s Special Connection
Rewa is regarded as the birthplace of white tigers. This story began in 1951 when Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa discovered a rare white tiger cub in the forests of Rewa and named it Mohan. Mohan was the first white tiger in India, and due to this, the conservation and breeding of white tigers became possible. Today, the descendants of Mohan can be found across India and in parts of the world, but Rewa remains the original home of this rare breed.
