
A national park and sanctuary in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, which is spread over an area of 940 km and is, situated within two districts Mandla and Balaghat. It is also called Kanha Tiger Sanctuary, Kanha Tiger Reserve Jabalpur and Kanha National Park. Kanha was made a national park on 1 June 1955 and a few years later in 1973 it was declared a tiger reserve.

Kanha National park has more than 1000 species of trees and plants and many wild animals, insects, and reptiles. Presently the Kanha area is divided into two sanctuaries, Hollan and Banjar of which Hollan is 250 km and Banjar is 300 km.

Animals seen in Kanha Tiger Reserve Jabalpur

The park is home to rare species of animals like the Royal Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Sloth Bear, Barasingha, etc. It was declared a Tiger Reserve to save the Royal Bengal Tigers which were once on the verge of extinction.
