Here the offering of kheer is offered to the mother, due to which the goddess is also known as Kheer Bhavani Mata.

Ancient History of Kheer Bhavani Temple.
Talking about the history of the temple, it is believed that the relation of the temple is older than the Ramayana period. According to ancient stories, it is said that Ravana was a great devotee of Mata (mother) Kheer Bhavani. Ravana had made the mother very happy with her devotion and the mother was pleased with her devotion and sat in Lanka.

But when Ravana started doing evil deeds and when Ravana kidnapped Sita, Goddess Kheer Bhavani Mata got angry with him and Mata Kheer Bhavani decided to leave Lanka. Mother had requested Ram devotee Hanuman to take him from Lanka to some other place and establish it. Then Lord Hanuman Ji accepted his words and took him from Lanka and made a situation in Tulmul village of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also known as Tulla Mulla.

Why it is called Kheer Bhavani Mata Temple.
Kheer is offered to the Goddess in the Kheer Bhavani temple. The people here have such a belief that by offering Kheer, the mother becomes happy and fulfills all the wishes of the devotee. Due to the offering of Kheer, the goddess and the temple here are known as Kheer Bhavani.

When the Kargil war took place between India and Pakistan, the color of this pond turned red. In 2014, there was a terrible storm in Kashmir, and the entire state of Kashmir was affected by this terrible storm, then the color of this pond turned black. When Prime Minister Modi Ji released Article 370 from Kashmir, the color of the pond had turned green. It is said that if the color of the pond turns green then it is a symbol of happiness.
