The Varahi Mata Temple, located in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh, is an extraordinary confluence of devotion and mystery. Situated about 6 kilometers inside from the Indore–Kota National Highway, in the village of Barai, this sacred temple rests peacefully on the banks of the Kalisindh River. Maa Varahi is worshipped as one of the Dasha Mahavidyas (Ten Great Wisdom Goddesses). According to ancient beliefs, this divine power originated from the Varaha (boar) incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is considered a symbol of protection and the remover of obstacles. Local traditions suggest that this temple has been a center of faith since ancient times. People from nearby villages and towns often visited the temple during hardships, and upon fulfillment of their wishes, they performed special rituals here.

Daily morning and evening aarti are performed, filling the temple with devotional chants. Devotees sing bhajans and praises of the Goddess, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. On special occasions, jagrans (night-long devotional singing) and bhajan evenings are organized. Offerings like coconut, chunri (sacred cloth), halwa-puri, and red flowers are considered auspicious.
