History: From Colonial Privilege to Public Treasure
Nehru Park has roots in the British colonial era when it was known as Biscoe Park, a recreational space exclusively reserved for British officers. At that time, entry was strictly prohibited for Indian citizens.

After India gained independence, the park was opened to the public and renamed in honor of the country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Over time, it evolved into one of Indore’s most popular public parks.
Facilities like a children’s train, swings, toy cars, reading corners, and a mini zoo were added, transforming it into a delightful destination for families.
