Kankali Devi Temple Tigawa (Tigma) is an ancient temple located in Tigawa Village at Bahoriband in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Bahoriband is a tehsil of Katni district and it is 50 km away from Katni. The Kankali Devi temple is one of the ancient temples of the 5th century, which dates back to approximately 400-425 AD. Where Kankali Devi Temple is today, earlier there were 26 Hindu temples that were destroyed by foreign Muslim invaders. Now, out of 26 temples, only 2 temples are in good condition, one is a skeletal devi temple and the other is of Khadag wali devi (Lord Durga), the rest of the 24 temples have broken parts still present today. This place is also known by the names Tigwa, Tigawa Tigma and Tigwan. By looking at the Kankali devi temple and Goddess Durga (Kadag wali devi) existing here, you can see the unique art style of our times. Apart from this, there are 24 temples that have been destroyed, you will be shocked to see them. The facades of the broken temples are so beautiful and their design is so attractive that the question arises in the mind whether such beautiful craftsmanship was possible even at that time when there was no machinery present in that time.
