The club organized Durga Puja in an open ground in the same year. The puja went well, but there was little extra money to start the construction of Kalibari. The members were intrepid and the search for a site was on. One winter morning, a pioneer swami came upon land at the foot of Malai hill and realized that the undulating land, slightly above ground level, but not too high, could be an ideal place for Kali to reside.
